About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Broadlands Clinic, part of Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Nursing Bank, you will provide high-quality care and support to our service users, working closely with registered nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to service users, under the guidance of registered nurses and senior healthcare assistants.
  • Supervise and assist service users with personal hygiene requirements, including bathing, washing, and toileting.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans, working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in promoting high standards of care, adhering to the Trust's policies and procedures, and ensuring the dignity and respect of service users are maintained.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records, including nursing observations, fluid balance, weight, temperature, pulse, and respirations.
  • Support registered staff in group and individual therapy sessions, and escort service users as required.
  • Prepare and tidy beds, personal lockers, and bed areas of clients who are unable to care for their own possessions.
Requirements
  • Good general education and relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience in a healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of mental health and learning disability services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexible and responsive approach to care, with a willingness to adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to positively manage change and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Valid driving license (unless exempt due to disability).
