About the Role

LTF Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) within a mainstream primary school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Offer one-on-one support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Work with small groups of students to provide targeted support and promote learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and follow the class teacher's guidance to ensure effective support.
  • Maintain, update, and review the progress of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).
Requirements
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools or relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience working with SEN learners in an educational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to support SEN pupils individually, in small groups, and across full-class settings.
  • Qualifications like TeamTeach or training in Positive Behaviour Management.
  • Effective communication skills, with proficiency in non-verbal methods like Makaton and PECS being highly advantageous.
