Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Humanities Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant secondary school in Greenwich. As a key member of the Humanities Department, you will provide essential support to teachers and students, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support for Humanities lessons, including History, Geography, and Religious Studies.
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management, ensuring a smooth and efficient learning experience.
  • Work one-to-one or with small groups of students to reinforce learning and help with any challenges, promoting academic excellence and individual growth.
  • Support students with varying learning needs, fostering an inclusive and encouraging learning environment that values diversity and promotes social cohesion.
  • Help maintain a positive and organized classroom setting, contributing to a productive and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Contribute to extra-curricular activities or school events related to Humanities subjects, enriching the educational experience and promoting a love of learning.

Requirements:

  • A passion for Humanities (History, Geography, Religious Studies) and a strong academic background in these areas.
  • A DBS certificate on the update service (mandatory).
  • No prior child-based experience required, but a desire to work with young people is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, and a proactive attitude.
