Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer at Stirling Dynamics

Stirling Dynamics is on the lookout for a skilled Principal Modelling and Simulation Engineer to enhance our Simulation, Dynamics, and Control capability group. The ideal candidate will possess over a decade of professional experience in modelling and analytical processes within the aerospace and marine sectors. This position presents an exciting chance to engage in pioneering projects focusing on aerodynamics, vehicle dynamics, and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement methodologies for multi-system models
  • Oversee technical projects related to actuator and motor control
  • Perform dynamic loads and aeroelastic assessments
  • Work collaboratively with the team on aerodynamics and thermal modelling

Required Qualifications:

A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics
Proficiency with modelling software such as Matlab/Simulink, Ansys, Nastran, among others
A proven history of successful development projects in aerospace or marine fields

Preferred Skills:

  • Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Experience managing multiple competing priorities

Experience Requirements:

  • 10+ years in aerospace and marine industries
  • Practical modelling experience across various technical domains
  • Experience leading technical projects and managing teams
  • Familiarity with standards such as ARP4754 and DO178

Compensation and Benefits:

Grade 6-7 salary banding £51-65,000
