About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Bramfield House School, an independent residential special educational needs school for boys aged 7 – 16 years. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and care of our pupils with social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties, and associated challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to pupils in the classroom, promoting independence and assisting the teacher in delivering the curriculum.
  • Offer specialist SEN, subject, or other support to pupils as needed.
  • Establish and maintain individual relationships with pupils, providing a consistent, caring, and understanding approach.
  • Liaise with education and care colleagues regarding issues, concerns, or achievements of pupils.
  • Contribute to half-termly pupil planning and reviews, including Progress Reports.
  • Work one-to-one on specific programs, such as behavioral or literacy interventions, when required.
  • Supervise pupils during transition times and provide support during break and lunch times.
  • Present suitable personal standards of behavior to pupils and act as an appropriate role model.
  • Write up or word process incidents and other matters of interest/concern promptly and to an acceptable standard.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to the school, its staff, and pupils.
