Achieving profitable success requires a delicate balance and a deep understanding of commercial dynamics. Central to our ongoing achievements is our commercial team, which is adept at negotiating and securing contracts through intricate discussions that culminate in legally binding agreements with global partners. In the role of Commercial and Legal Executive, you will collaborate with our seasoned commercial team to initially assist and eventually take charge of our client contracts encompassing vehicle manufacturers, sales, sponsorship, race driver agreements, and fundamental arrangements such as non-disclosure agreements, ensuring they are accurate, legally sound, and aligned with our strategic objectives.
Adept problem-solving skills and effective communication are essential, as your meticulous attention to detail, diligence, and analytical capabilities will quickly earn the trust of your technical internal stakeholders, enabling the identification and management of risks, challenges, and opportunities. You will leverage your legal and business education, training, and experience, coupled with a keen interest in the contractual and commercial aspects of motorsport, to review, manage, and draft contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other specialized agreements on behalf of our motorsport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that agreements with clients, drivers, partners, and sponsors are accurately and legally documented.
- Develop and uphold standard operating procedures for Prodrive motorsport's contracting process, including the creation and maintenance of templates.
- Implement an efficient renewal process and a monitoring system for existing contracts to ensure compliance with contractual obligations by all parties.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel to create robust and enforceable agreements.
- Provide administrative support during commercial negotiations and track contract completion.
- Offer commercial guidance to colleagues on contractual matters and risk management.
Who Are We Looking For?
The ideal candidate will possess a law degree or equivalent legal qualification, coupled with a passion for motorsport and a desire to work in a business context rather than strictly within the legal field. Previous experience in a commercially oriented team, particularly within a sports environment, is advantageous but not mandatory. You will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable advice. A high level of numeracy and commercial awareness is essential, as is a preference for working in a fast-paced, action-oriented culture.
