Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join our team in Birmingham. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown duties on paint and moulding plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform PPM and reactive breakdown duties on paint and moulding plant and equipment
  • Respond to immediate machinery breakdowns to ensure minimal production downtime
  • Work to a structured PPM schedule performing servicing, testing, and cleaning to optimise equipment reliability
  • Undertake basic fault finding, diagnosis, and repair on PLC controlled equipment
  • Repair and install motors, as well as strip and rebuild complex special purpose machinery as required
  • Liaise with suppliers and other maintenance engineers and technical support providers at machine manufacturers
  • Specify replacement parts and tools, overhaul and replace electrical and mechanical parts as required
  • Mentor apprentices in best maintenance practices and working to Health and Safety requirements

Requirements:

  • Relevant electrical and mechanical qualifications to at least HNC level or above
  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship
  • 18th Edition IEE regs certification
  • Skilled in basic PLC fault finding, diagnosis, and repair activities
  • At least 3 years' experience gained in an engineering or manufacturing maintenance environment
