We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Individual Support Assistant to provide tailored assistance to a student with special educational needs. This role involves supporting a child with Down's syndrome in a primary educational setting, focusing on their social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised support to the student, facilitating their engagement with the curriculum and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate in the creation and execution of customised learning plans and support strategies.
  • Provide emotional and social encouragement, creating a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
  • Work in partnership with the classroom teacher and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to track progress and adjust support as necessary.
  • Assist the student during classroom activities and transitions, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians, offering regular updates on the student's development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
