Electrical Maintenance and Installation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Maintenance and Installation Specialist to join our team at Resourcing Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and components throughout the university campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, circuits, outlets, switches, and other related components.
  • Install new electrical systems and equipment, including lighting fixtures, power outlets, and control systems, in accordance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, including power outages, equipment failures, and other urgent repair requests.
  • Perform tests and diagnostics on electrical systems using appropriate tools and equipment to identify faults, inefficiencies, or safety risks.
  • Work closely with other maintenance staff, contractors, and university departments on special projects, renovations, and new construction to ensure electrical requirements are met.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of electrical supplies, tools, and equipment, and order replacements as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified electrician apprenticeship program or technical school preferred.
  • Valid electrician license and certification as required by state law.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) as a maintenance electrician or in a similar role, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, electrical codes, and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform complex electrical repairs and installations.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, or in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
