Job Title: Financial Systems Manager

The Financial Systems Manager is a key role within The Pew Charitable Trusts, responsible for overseeing the operation of financial systems and associated technologies. This position requires a business-focused technology expert who can develop the direction, oversee the operation, and ensure appropriate segregation of duties, audit controls, and necessary guardrails for the production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to IT and Finance leadership on operational needs of financial systems, including maintenance, features, governance, and support needs.
  • Serve as the expert on Pew's business process, related to the financial system, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, general ledger, reporting, fixed assets, and employee expenses.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Pew's processes by partnering with key stakeholders and technical team members.
  • Manage a team of direct reports, providing timely and ongoing feedback on progress and performance.
  • Implement and enforce policies and best practices over the governance and operations of Pew's financial systems.
  • Support audit efforts and ensure the financial system meets all compliance requirements.
  • Manage the system roadmap in alignment with organizational and team goals, prioritizing operational needs and enhancement requests.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in information technology, the implementation and operation of financial systems, and application design and support.
  • Minimum of four years of experience managing and/or implementing financial systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial business operations and relating those to system requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage projects that include implementing new financial systems or significant overhauls or upgrades to financial systems.
  • Strong communication skills, including clearly explaining complex technical problems in business language to all levels of the organization.
