**Job Title:** Commercial Finance Director
**Job Summary:** SF Recruitment Limited t/a SF Group is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Finance Director to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance and Procurement and will play a crucial role in the finance team.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Support the production of the Annual Report and Accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide capital accounting support to the Financial Controller, including the development and implementation of an improved control framework.
- Develop and implement an improved control framework using best practice experience and knowledge, and fulfilling audit recommendations.
- Work with the Finance System team to identify system reports to be developed and implemented, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
- Produce, review, and publish data returns, identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee the preparation of VAT returns and associated reconciliations, identifying process improvements to minimize errors and optimize compliance.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying process improvements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and update policies, including accounting policies, fraud, and expenses, to ensure alignment with industry best practices.
- Work with the finance Business Partnering and Systems teams to foster good connections across the finance team and achieve effective working practices.
- Represent the Head of Finance and/or Director in their absence, ensuring continuity and stability in the finance function.
- Embrace continuous improvement tools and techniques to help modernize the finance function, ensuring it remains fit for the future.
**Requirements:**
- Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong background in finance and accounting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Proficiency in financial systems and software, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
