Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Brook Street Social Care. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs in educational settings and maintaining high-quality records of that support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or other barriers to learning to ensure they can engage with coursework and practical tasks related to animal care, welfare, and management.
  • Help students during classroom lessons, ensuring they understand the material being taught and can complete tasks such as note-taking, reading, or following instructions.
  • Help students become more independent in their learning by promoting self-confidence, time management, and study skills.
  • Accompany students on residential, day trip, or work experience as required.
  • Ensure students adhere to health and safety protocols, particularly in environments where animals are present. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE) and understanding the risks associated with handling animals.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a learning support assistant, teaching assistant, or in a similar educational support role, particularly with students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
  • Practical experience in handling and caring for animals, particularly in environments such as zoos, animal shelters, farms, or veterinary settings, can be advantageous.
Working Arrangements

4 days per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm (rota will be provided at the start of assignment). £12.50 per hour.
