About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner. As a Trainee EMHP, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health support to children and young people in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based support for children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and some behavioural needs.
  • Work in collaboration with Mental Health Leads in educational settings, as well as the wider school community.
  • Offer a combination of one-to-one Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) support for young people and whole school approach work.
  • Deliver workshops for pupils, staff training, and parent workshops.

Training and Development

As a Trainee EMHP, you will have the opportunity to undertake a twelve-month Graduate or Postgraduate Diploma level training course delivered by the University of Exeter. This training will equip you with the necessary knowledge, behaviours, and skills to ensure that children and young people have access to high-quality, evidence-based mental health support.
