Our client, a leading company in the industry, is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join their team as an Interim Technical Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to support the company's growth and development, driving innovation and product excellence.
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading the engineering department in the creation of new designs using 3D CAD tools to support New Product Development programmes. You will also be responsible for modifying existing designs, supporting the technical department with design verification information, and developing production drawings and bills of materials.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a Technical Design role within a manufacturing environment, proficiency with 3D Design software, and previous experience managing design teams. You will also have a passion for creative problem-solving and a background in assembly, fabrication, modular, caravan, windows & doors, holiday home, construction or mechanical industries.
As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the engineering department in the creation of new designs using 3D CAD tools to support New Product Development programmes.
- Modifying existing designs to meet customer requirements.
- Supporting the technical department with design verification information and compilation of product specification sheets.
- Developing production drawings and bills of materials accurately and promptly.
- Liaising with sales and commercial teams to develop design briefs and support large proposal activity.
- Supporting production with new initiatives requiring design support, such as jig design.
- Developing KPIs and personal performance plans for the team.
- Liaising with customers and commercial teams as required with regards to drawings and approvals.
