Due to significant investment and multiple ongoing projects, Russell Taylor Group Ltd is seeking a Mechanical-focused Project Engineer for their advanced facility in Skipton.

The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, leading and supporting the execution of projects to ensure effective and timely manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage substantial office, laboratory, and factory-based projects in alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Take ownership of projects, providing necessary support and guidance.
  • Lead major projects by assembling and directing suitable teams.
  • Conduct technical investigations as needed for specific projects.
  • Generate detailed protocols and reports, offering recommendations where applicable.
  • Disseminate technical information across various business functions.
  • Provide project updates and presentations to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Support departmental facilities and operations.
  • Guide project teams to achieve completion within budget and time constraints.
  • Anticipate workload requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, delivering accurate timelines to the Project Manager and broader business.
  • Maintain project documentation and files, suggesting enhancements to systems and procedures when necessary.
  • Prepare documentation for internal and external circulation.
  • Develop plans for direct reports to align departmental goals with business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards for all assigned activities.
  • Manage Document of Manufacturing (DOM) updates and ensure personnel training is current.
Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A fully qualified engineering background, preferably with a mechanical focus.
  • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, or process-related sectors.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams on significant projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage capital budgets (CAPEX).
