Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Security Engineer to join our team at Hellowork Consultants Limited. This role focuses on enhancing the security posture of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and uphold Rego policies to enforce security measures and compliance protocols within our GCP infrastructure and applications.
  • Work collaboratively with development and operations teams to embed security within the GCP-centric CI/CD pipeline, ensuring automated security checks and scans are integrated seamlessly.
  • Utilize your expertise in GCP to architect and deploy secure microservices and containerized applications, adhering to GCP security best practices.
  • Create and manage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform to securely and efficiently define GCP resources.
  • Conduct comprehensive security evaluations of GCP environments, employing GCP-specific security tools and technologies to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
  • Engage in threat modeling and risk assessments for GCP deployments, crafting effective security solutions tailored to GCP services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to swiftly address GCP-specific security incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective measures.
  • Stay informed about advancements in GCP, industry security trends, and best practices, sharing insights and knowledge with team members.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness within GCP environments, ensuring that security considerations are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrated experience as a DevSecOps Engineer with a strong emphasis on GCP.
  • Proficiency in Rego policies and policy-as-code methodologies, particularly in GCP implementations.
  • Experience with Wiz Security Control and its integration for ongoing security monitoring in GCP environments.
  • Thorough understanding of GCP services, security controls, and best practices.
  • Skilled in utilizing GCP-specific security tools, vulnerability scanners, and penetration testing instruments.
  • Extensive experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using Terraform for GCP resource management.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) integrated with GCP.
  • Solid knowledge of GCP security frameworks, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong grasp of container security within GCP and experience in securing microservices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of effective teamwork.
  • Relevant GCP certifications such as Google Professional DevOps Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or similar credentials are highly desirable.
