Role Overview

The role of a North Wales Police Communications Operator is a challenging and rewarding position that offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initial Investigation: Conduct initial interviews to establish the severity of incidents and identify potential lines of inquiry.
  • Partnership Working: Collaborate with other emergency services and partner agencies to support their work and arrange police involvement when necessary.
  • Advice and Signposting: Provide advice and guidance to members of the public, signposting them to more appropriate agencies when necessary.
  • Recording Intelligence: Identify and record information from the public to inform future policing operations.
  • Service Delivery: Provide a professional service to the public, dealing with a high volume of calls and maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Typing speed of around 40 wpm.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Windows systems.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Good geographical knowledge of North Wales.
Language Requirements

North Wales Police is a bilingual organization, and for this role, you will need to demonstrate a minimum of level 4/5 Welsh skills.
