We are a privately held tech company with a focus on quantitative risk analysis and digital infrastructure.

Our company is the digital infrastructure arm of the 80 Group, with operations spanning across Technology, Insurance, Consumer brands, Commodities and Financial Markets.

The Role

We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Python Software Developer to join our London team

The candidate will play a crucial role in our data management and analytics platform, which tackles challenges faced by insurance companies and develops tailored tools to address their needs.

This includes building dashboards, visualisations, and seamless integrations with our own or third-party systems, to develop the backend systems that power our applications.

We are looking for an individual eager to contribute in a small team setting, where close collaboration with colleagues will provide the chance to gain deep insights and make a meaningful impact.

Your Responsibilities Will Include but Not Be Limited To

  • Building efficient back-end features in Python
  • Researching, conceiving and developing applications to create, extend and improve insurance systems
  • Managing various data feeds and integrating them into our systems
  • Collaborating data scientists and our front-end engineers to ensure the seamless integration of data insights and user interface enhancements into our backend systems
  • Participating in architecture design and code reviews

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong Python (data architecture, back-end services)
  • Good working knowledge of SQL
  • Strong programming experience creating and running web APIs
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred (but not required) Skills

  • Experience in Linux
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Experience with ETL and data integration
  • Experience with cloud providers (AWS or GCP)
