Electrical Switchgear Application Design Engineer

Location: Telford / Leeds / Hybrid home working

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Switchgear Application Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing switchgear solutions for a range of industrial and commercial applications.

Your primary focus will be on developing electrical schematics, selecting appropriate switchgear components, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality switchgear solutions that meet customer needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop electrical schematics and layouts for switchgear applications
  2. Select and specify appropriate switchgear components based on project requirements
  3. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
  4. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams to support project execution
  5. Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders on switchgear applications
  6. Participate in product development and continuous improvement initiatives
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in switchgear application design
About You:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Switchgear Application Design Engineer with a strong background in electrical engineering and switchgear design.

Key Requirements:

  1. ONC / HNC / Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or related field
  2. Proven experience in switchgear application design and implementation
  3. Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and switchgear components
  4. Familiarity with IEC and ENA industry standards
  5. Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN)
  6. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  7. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
