We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to become part of a dynamic secondary educational institution.

The successful applicant should possess the capability to instruct either Mathematics or English. This position plays a crucial role in assisting students with special educational requirements, ensuring they receive high-quality instruction in essential subjects.

Key Responsibilities:

SENCO Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the support provided for students with special educational needs.
  • Formulate and supervise the execution of the institution's SEN strategy and policy.
  • Organize and lead the SEN team.
  • Liaise with educators, guardians, and external organizations to address students' needs.
  • Develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored for students.
  • Track and report on the progress of students with SEN.

Teaching Duties:

  • Design and deliver engaging and tailored lessons in Mathematics or English.
  • Evaluate, document, and communicate student progress and achievements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive educational atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create effective teaching methodologies.
  • Promote student well-being and academic success.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • NASENCO Award (or a commitment to pursue it).
  • Prior experience as a SENCO or in a comparable position.
  • Strong knowledge in Mathematics or English up to GCSE level.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Dedication to inclusive education and the capability to inspire students.
