About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Branch Manager Designate to join our team at Alsford Timber Limited. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of staff to achieve sales, budgets, and productivity targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of staff to achieve sales, budgets, and productivity targets.
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure total customer satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Stock Management: Maintain control over stock levels, ensuring core ranges are available to meet customer requirements and checking for quality assurance.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Assess sales reports and compile weekly/monthly management reports to assist in operational forecasts within budgets.
  • Training and Development: Conduct weekly/monthly staff meetings/briefings to maintain and ensure that staff are kept informed of all business products and information being provided.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain current comprehensive knowledge of all Alsford products, technology, and promotional activity.
  • Operational Efficiency: Improve productivity and customer experience.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: Good level of education, e.g., relevant City & Guilds, HND, NVQ, and/or equivalent qualification as appropriate for the role.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in trade, builders merchant, or retail store management, with experience in the supervision and management of employees and ability to effectively manage an annual budget.
  • Skills: Commercially minded, experience of delivering results, product knowledge, customer focused, ability to interpret and understand figures and act upon the interpretations, stock management skills, great communication skills/negotiation, leadership skills, team building skills, administration, knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation, PC literate, positive outlook, and driving licence.
