Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Health Visitor Manager to take on the role of Lead Nurse - Quality Assurance within the Children's Public Health Nursing Service. This is a permanent position at Band 8a, offering a part-time commitment of 30 hours per week.

This role presents an exciting opportunity to deliver effective operational leadership and management for Children's Public Health Nursing within the organization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting the Head of Health Visiting & Early Years Senior Nurse and the broader Children's Public Health Nursing team.

We are in search of professionals who can enhance a solid framework that ensures adherence to professional and clinical governance standards, in alignment with national health initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed individual will hold professional accountability for the operational management and service delivery within a designated area. Responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the line management of nursing personnel.
  • Managing and monitoring resources effectively within the allocated budget.
  • Contributing to the overarching corporate objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and leadership capabilities, demonstrating a proactive and innovative approach to their work.

Welsh language proficiency is preferred for this position; however, applications from both English and Welsh speakers are encouraged.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse
  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development linked to clinical competencies
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development at a postgraduate level

Desirable:

  • Completion of RCN Leadership course or equivalent

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in the NHS at a managerial level, with a focus on strategic and operational management of Children's Public Health Nursing services.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of NHS priorities, public health initiatives, and governance standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and complete significant projects successfully.

Desirable:

  • Current experience in the specialty
