About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Footwear Technologist to join our team at Kurt Geiger, a leading luxury footwear and accessories brand. As a key member of our sourcing team, you will be responsible for maintaining data on supplier quality issues, facilitating raw material and sample testing, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Main Responsibilities- Support the Sourcing Team by maintaining accurate records of supplier quality issues and ensuring data is up-to-date.
- Facilitate raw material and sample testing, and communicate results to internal stakeholders.
- Collate data on leather sourcing and volumes to provide to the Leather Working Group.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and maintain necessary processes and documentation.
- Access the internal order tracking system to advise on shipment schedules and resource allocation.
- Follow up with distribution centers to ensure sample issues are addressed.
- Support cost negotiations and work closely with brand partners to achieve prices and margins.
- Work proactively with the UK team and Asia Supply Chain team to take action on production schedules and material approvals.
- Send samples for testing and follow up on quality-related issues.
- Build cross-functional team relationships to communicate supply chain-related issues.
- Assist and support the team with day-to-day duties.
- Carry out regular store visits to report on quality standards.
- Input product data into required systems.
- Complete seasonal product reports for senior leadership meetings.
- Support other departments when cover is needed.
- Participate in trips with the Buyer and/or Designer to suppliers around the world.
- Liaise with DC QC team to ensure products are inspected appropriately.
- Investigate quality issues, find solutions, and report findings to the QA Technical manager.
- Ensure emerging issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
- Maintain traceability of confirmation samples into the warehouse and oversee the DC inspection process.
- Process damaged goods, manufacturing faults, and transit damages through correct processes.
- Ensure international compliance documentation is accessible in the central system to prevent shipping delays.
- Technically trained in footwear fitting and grading.
- Previous experience in footwear production or sourcing.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Strong and effective communication skills.
- Experience in women's premium fashion footwear.
- Inquisitive and confident, with the ability to research and summarize information on ad-hoc projects.
- Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple areas of work and ensure deadlines are met.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to research, understand, and relay information on legislation and advise actions as required.
- Good understanding of leather.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
