About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Housing Solicitor to join our team as a Supervisor. The successful candidate will have significant experience in housing law, meet the Legal Aid Agency Supervisor Standard, and be able to support both clients and paralegals effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day managerial responsibilities of the Housing team, ensuring compliance with professional body requirements.
  • Provide advice, casework, representation, and advocacy services on housing law matters, including Homelessness, Disrepair, Eviction, and Possession.
  • Undertake your own advocacy and assist with the legal aid contract, billing files, completing legal aid applications, and complying with Legal Aid Agency and SQM requirements.
  • Build and maintain links with local community groups, advice networks, and legal professionals.
  • Proven track record in delivering legal aid work with a wide range of experience.
  • Strong management skills and a commitment to social justice.
  • Previous supervisory experience and ability to work to key performance indicators.
  • Extensive experience in all housing-related work.
  • Experience in own advocacy is an advantage.
  • Excellent IT skills, familiar with Microsoft Office applications and document management.
