Strategic Finance Business Partner

Sutton Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Finance Business Partner to join its shared finance service with Kingston Council. This role will focus on supporting the council's Environment, Housing and Neighbourhoods directorate, which includes Highways, Housing, Parking, Parks, Planning and Building Control, Temporary Accommodation and Waste.
The successful candidate will provide strategic support to the Head of Financial Planning and Business Partnering, developing subject matter expertise and ensuring that services produce accurate and useful financial information and forecasts. Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining financial plans and forecasts for the directorate
- Providing financial advice and guidance to senior officers and leadership
- Leading or providing financial support to change and transformation programmes
- Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies
The ideal candidate will have experience in financial planning and business partnering, with a strong understanding of local government finance and a proven track record of delivering financial plans and forecasts. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire colleagues and stakeholders.

Please note that preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting a local authority's Housing Revenue Account (HRA). However, all qualified candidates will be considered.
