Senior Windows Engineer Wintel Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Windows Engineer to join our Wintel team working with a technical defence client in Barrow-In-Furness. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing changes, managing access control, and administering Windows servers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing changes to Windows infrastructure
  • Managing access control and Active Directory
  • Administering Windows servers, including DHCP and AD management
  • Providing high availability and cluster administration
  • Managing emergency and critical OS patch management
  • Performing OS maintenance and break fix support
  • Managing Direct Attached Storage (DAS) and operating system backup and recovery
  • Updating hardware, firmware, and drivers
  • Resolving problems and documenting processes

Essential Experience/Skills:

  • Windows Scripting and PowerShell
  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Active Directory and network troubleshooting/configuration
  • VMware, vSphere, and vCenter
  • Experience with infrastructure as Code solutions
  • Hardware support and OEM experience
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a live and active SC Clearance and experience with Windows scripting, PowerShell, and Windows Server 2008/2012/2016. They will also have experience with Active Directory, network troubleshooting/configuration, and VMware, vSphere, and vCenter.
