Job Description

**Senior Software Engineer - HFT**

Algo Capital Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our High-Frequency Trading (HFT) team in London. As a key member of our algorithmic trading team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing advanced trading applications and tools that drive our success.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Lead the full lifecycle development of applications and libraries for exchange gateways, trading strategy execution, risk management, trade reporting, and market data feed processing using C++.
  • Develop and maintain high-performance, reliable systems to maximize uptime and ensure robust logging and traceability for mission-critical production environments.
  • Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and traders to drive strategy development.
  • Design, develop, and deploy software using agile methodologies.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering best practices through pair programming, code reviews, and guidance.
  • Provide production support, maintenance, and performance enhancements for existing systems.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve our tech stack.

**Requirements & Qualifications:**

  • Advanced proficiency in C++ with multiple years of experience working on a trading system.
  • Solid background in multi-threaded programming and a deep understanding of hardware/software interaction.
  • Experience in the trading industry or other latency-sensitive environments where solving complex, novel problems is key.
  • Background in numerical computing or collaboration with quantitative researchers.
  • Familiarity with full lifecycle software development on exotic hardware/software architectures.
  • Detailed knowledge of TCP, UDP, IPV4, and related hardware/software protocols.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
