Senior Tax Strategist

Position Summary:

The Group Tax Manager role has emerged in response to the ongoing expansion of our organization. This pivotal position will oversee the establishment of tax frameworks aimed at enhancing efficiencies while providing strategic insights and updates to senior management on all tax-related issues affecting the Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a tax strategy for the organization that aligns with industry best practices.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all global tax compliance obligations across various legal entities, including income and corporation tax computations and returns.
• Monitor and account for group-wide tax provisions, including deferred tax considerations.
• Manage and maintain the transfer pricing policy to ensure accurate recording of intercompany transfer pricing charges.
• Communicate the implications of changes in tax legislation to the Board and identify opportunities for optimizing tax efficiencies.
• Support acquisitions and similar transactions from a tax perspective.
• Provide ad hoc corporate tax advice to the business and external advisors, ensuring regular and productive communication.
• Encourage and guide the business to act in a tax-efficient manner while promoting tax awareness across the organization.
• Engage in strategic tax planning, transfer pricing policies, employment tax issues, and VAT management.
• Prepare the Group's UK corporate income tax filings.
• Oversee all tax work outsourced to external advisors for non-UK jurisdictions, ensuring efficient and appropriate advice is obtained.
• Manage R&D tax claim work, whether prepared internally or outsourced.
• Maintain strong relationships with various tax authorities.

Key Requirements:

Education:

• A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Relevant accounting and/or tax qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CTA/ATII, or equivalent.

Experience:

• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience, with a focus on tax accounting, compliance, planning, and provisioning.
• Strong technical knowledge of international and cross-border taxation issues.
• Experience with indirect tax matters.
• Ability to operate in a hands-on manner within a dynamic environment.
• Proven capability to coordinate and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders and finance professionals.
