Job Title: Senior Scientist - Process Chemistry

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist to join our Drug Substance Development (DSD) Chemistry team at GSK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and performing synthetic organic chemistry and biotransformation experiments to meet project timelines and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute experiments to develop new synthetic routes and process understanding.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Participate in technology transfer activities to support manufacturing partners and other parts of R&D.
  • Author or contribute to regulatory submissions, patents, scientific papers, and other internal documentation.
  • Comply with applicable data integrity, quality, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent experience in practical synthetic organic or biotransformation chemistry.
  • Experience in the application of biotransformations for small molecule synthesis.
  • Highly self-motivated and possess strong experimental skills.
  • Previous experience working in a multi-functional team to solve problems.
  • Practical familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, NMR, LCMS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Large-scale chemical synthesis.
  • Reaction optimisation through high-throughput experimentation (HTE).
  • Experience in data programming, data visualisation, and modelling.
