Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Manager to join our pre-construction team at Randstad Construction & Property. As a Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the design process for our construction projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process for construction projects, working closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet the client's requirements and are feasible from a construction perspective.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met and that the design process is collaborative and effective.
- Manage and coordinate the design team, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality designs.
- Ensure that designs are compliant with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the pre-construction team to ensure that designs are aligned with the project's budget, schedule, and scope.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the project's requirements, including the client's needs, the site conditions, and the regulatory framework.
- Identify and mitigate potential design risks, ensuring that the design process is robust and resilient.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring that they are applied consistently throughout the design process.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or in a similar role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality designs on time and within budget.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of designers and engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential design risks.
- Proficiency in relevant design software, including Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and industry standards, including the Building Regulations and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
