Key Responsibilities- Lead the nursing team and coordinate shifts to ensure effective care delivery.
- Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Attend ward rounds and CPA meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide individualized support to patients and their families, advocating for their needs and preferences.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting their professional development and growth.
- Contribute to the leadership structure of the unit, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Oversee admissions and discharges, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Escalate concerns and make referrals as necessary, working closely with social services and legal frameworks.
- Support the development of parent-infant relationships, promoting healthy attachment and bonding.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in perinatal mental health.
- Registered Nurse Mental Health with a current and live NMC PIN number.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven experience in supervisory and management roles, with a track record of success in leading teams.
- Strong knowledge of perinatal mental health, including risk assessment, care planning, and medication management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and compassion.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations.
