Cybersecurity Specialist

Shaw Daniels Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Security Analyst to join our team. As a Security Analyst, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cybersecurity of our organization.

• Monitor security events and alerts within our network and systems.
• Identify suspicious activities, anomalies, and potential security incidents.
• Assess the urgency and severity of incidents and determine whether immediate action or further investigation is required.
• Escalate incidents to higher tiers when necessary.
• Regularly scan systems for vulnerabilities and report and manage vulnerabilities discovered during scans.
• Configure and manage security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus) and ensure proper functioning and timely updates.
• Document incidents, actions taken, and findings, and prepare incident reports for further analysis.

• 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Basic understanding of networking and security principles.
• Familiarity with security tools and technologies (e.g., Sentinel, Defender suite, firewalls, intrusion detection systems).
• Proficiency in log analysis and query languages (e.g., KQL, shell scripting, Snort rules).
• Ability to analyze and interpret security events and alerts, and attention to detail and curiosity to investigate anomalies.
• Effective communication to report incidents and collaborate with team members, and documentation skills for incident reports.
• Adherence to ethical standards and confidentiality, and responsible handling of sensitive information.

• CompTIA Security+
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
