Position Overview:

Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated Tutors specializing in English, Maths, and Science to provide customized educational support on a one-on-one basis for secondary school students who are currently not enrolled in traditional schooling.

Role Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of students who may be disengaged or facing challenges in their learning journey. The role involves:

  • Designing and implementing individualized lesson plans to address specific gaps in knowledge for KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment to enhance student motivation and academic performance.
  • Utilizing creative teaching methods to cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
Contract Details:

Location: Community settings or students' homes.
Position: Tutor for English, Maths, and Science
Type of Work: Contractual
Contract Type: Temporary
Hours: Part-time (approximately 15 hours per week per student)
Pay Rate: Starting at £27+ per hour
Working Hours: Flexible, based on family availability.

Qualifications and Experience:

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in UK classroom settings.
  • A creative and patient approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt to various learning needs.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or those who are disengaged.
Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must:

  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional references related to child education.
