We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Transformation Unit as a Developmental Clinical Psychologist. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team providing a range of services to support the mental health and well-being of children and young people.
Main Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological consultation, assessment, and intervention to young people in the youth justice service who present with mental health or neurodisability concerns or who have significant complex trauma backgrounds.
- Support the youth justice teams in embedding trauma-informed care principles and providing supervision to qualified staff, trainees, and assistant psychologists.
- Contribute to overall service delivery as required, including the development of policies and procedures.
- Utilize research skills for audit, policy, and service development and research within the area served by the team/service.
- Post-graduate training in clinical/counselling/forensic psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice.
- Experience of working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service, including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course, and a range of clinical severity across a range of care settings.
- Knowledge and skills in risk assessment and risk management, knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health, and effective communication skills.
