Forseven, a pioneering company dedicated to reshaping the electric vehicle sector through innovative technology and engineering excellence, is in search of a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to enhance our exceptional Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the engineering, development, integration, and validation of diverse electrical modules (including ECUs, Sensors, and Actuators) within the comprehensive vehicle electrical framework, collaborating closely with Functional Departments, technical partners, and Tier 1 suppliers.
  • Take ownership of critical areas related to electrical modules, including:
    • Central Compute Unit and Zonal Controllers within advanced zonal architecture
    • Components for Autonomous Drive / ADAS such as LiDAR, RADAR, Camera Modules, and Ultrasonic Sensors
    • Body Security Components including Body / Zonal Controller, Keys, and Alcolock
  • Develop and maintain specifications for requirements, timelines, systems calibration, and validation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance to EDS and Packaging teams to ensure proper placement and packaging of control units, modules, and peripherals in accordance with installation and wiring standards.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary functional safety, legislative, electrical, environmental, and EMC standards.
  • Lead system review, verification, and validation processes, including FMEAs, test planning, and functionality assessments throughout development.
  • Represent the Electrical Department in status meetings and engineering reviews, as well as in external working groups related to the components/ECUs.
  • Identify and resolve faults, managing issues to closure through a structured 8D process, acting as an authority for concessions or escalating as necessary.
  • Manage supplier relationships and coordination, providing support for Procurement, Logistics, and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Offer support and training to Manufacturing and Service departments.
  • Be accountable for Commodity attributes such as Quality, Costs, Timing, and Weight.
  • Deliver commodities within budget by maintaining regular communication with suppliers and tracking DVP status while meeting all legislative requirements.
  • Oversee third-party suppliers across various prototype and development builds.
  • Participate in leadership roles for system review, verification, and validation activities.
  • Responsible for DFMEA, DVP&R (Electrical & Mechanical), PV sign-off, and Engineering Sign-off.
  • Support Sub-system Design Reviews, DFMEA, and Supplier FMEAs.
  • Coordinate with Tier 1 suppliers, providing support for Procurement, Logistics, and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with various prototype and development builds, including labcar/test rig assembly as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Programs, Logistics, Service, and workshops.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Strong understanding of the Automotive New Product Development Process, including milestones and deliverables for each phase.
  • Proven experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of automotive electrical components.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, ECUs, and other electrically wired components.
  • Familiarity with CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LIN networks, and vehicle diagnostics.
  • Working knowledge of relevant homologation standards, ISO26262, and EuroNCAP.
  • Understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Security requirements for global market vehicles.
  • Experience in designing for optimal electrical and EMC performance.
  • Established connections within the automotive ecosystem, including Tier 1 and component suppliers.
  • Knowledge of hybrid and fully electric vehicle architectures and wiring systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as CATIA V5 or V6, or lightweight file viewers is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of 2D drawings and electrical circuits.
  • Experience in creating Engineering Change Requests and managing their implementation through internal and external design releases.
  • Experience in system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma, or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAP, etc.).
  • Experience leading DFMEA and System (Electrical Interface) Reviews.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Experience in harness testing and validation processes, as well as engineering sign-off.
  • Proficient in using various engineering development tools such as JIRA, Polarion, and collaborative platforms like Microsoft Office 365.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required; other recognized engineering qualifications combined with significant relevant experience will be considered.
  • Additional Project Management qualifications are desirable.
