Exciting Career Opportunity
A unique position has opened for a Staff Nurse within the Eden Unit, a specialized facility dedicated to the treatment of eating disorders.
We are in search of a driven individual to assist our current nursing staff and interdisciplinary team in delivering comprehensive care in this specialized environment. While experience with eating disorders is beneficial, it is not a prerequisite. A thorough induction will be provided, along with opportunities for further professional development.
The successful applicant will be required to work on a rotational basis, covering both day and night shifts. We welcome applications from both Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs).
The Eden Unit serves as the Regional Inpatient Eating Disorder Service for the North East of Scotland, catering to a wide geographical area. The unit also features a transitional placement in a Day Programme designed to prevent hospital admissions or facilitate earlier discharges.
Our patients primarily present with eating disorders, but may also experience co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, autism, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, and diabetes.
At the Eden Unit, we prioritize evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Our ward offers a variety of treatment modalities, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Family-Based Therapy
- Interpersonal Psychological Therapy
- Art Therapy
- Mentalisation-Based Therapy
- Distress Tolerance Therapies
- Cognitive Remedial Therapy
Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in the EEATS Accredited course.
During their stay, patients engage in formulation sessions, allowing them and the multidisciplinary team to reflect on their journey and collaboratively develop a forward-looking care plan.
An attractive relocation package of up to £8,000 is available for successful candidates.
Commitment to Equality and Diversity
NHS Scotland is dedicated to fostering equality and diversity within our workforce, aiming to eliminate discrimination and ensure a representative workforce where every employee feels valued and empowered to perform at their best.
Application Process
Interested candidates should complete the application process as outlined on the relevant platform. Please refrain from submitting a CV, as it will not be considered for shortlisting.
We encourage you to regularly check your email and application account for updates.
Note: If this position is located within a Low Emission Zone, candidates will be responsible for any associated costs.
