About the Role
As a pivotal member of our engineering team at Tottle Bakery, you will engage in the maintenance and repair of machinery essential for our production of pork pies, where we produce millions of products weekly. Your role will involve working with a blend of traditional and modern automated systems, as we embark on an extensive automation initiative with significant investments in robotic technology for the upcoming year.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform both preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal functionality of plant equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment failures efficiently to meet production goals.
- Document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while executing repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Support team members in following safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and maintenance practices.
- Utilize logical problem-solving skills to address engineering challenges and propose enhancements.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess relevant industry qualifications or have completed an apprenticeship as a multi-skilled engineer, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems. Experience in a food manufacturing or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment is advantageous. You should be a methodical thinker with excellent troubleshooting abilities, familiar with AC/DC motors, servo systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Proficiency in workshop skills, including basic fabrication and equipment refurbishment, is essential. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
