About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused individual to join our team as a Rail Testing Specialist. As an operative, you will play a critical role in maintaining the rail network, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of passengers and freight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions, often in challenging terrain, to perform manual tasks and transport equipment.
  • Collaborate with a small team to deliver safe and efficient work delivery, adhering to rules and instructions.
  • Develop and maintain technical skills and non-technical skills through structured training and continuous learning.
  • Support the team in maintaining equipment and provide lookout duties to ensure the safety of the team.
Requirements
  • Team-working: ability to work closely with the team to deliver safe and efficient work delivery.
  • Communication: good communication skills to work safely and effectively.
  • Proactive planning: being punctual, having the van and equipment ready, and anticipating the needs of the team.
  • Working under pressure: remaining calm under pressure while working outdoors in all conditions.
  • Following rules and instructions: understanding and respecting rules, and feeling confident to challenge if a situation is unsafe.
  • Willingness to learn: consistently developing skills and competencies relevant to the discipline.
