Job Title: Senior Project Assurance Engineer

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Assurance Engineer to join our Airborne Radar Quality Assurance Team in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our projects and support business growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be an integral member of the Airborne Radar Quality team and contribute to all aspects of Quality ensuring the success and completion of all allocated projects.
  • Delivery of all assurance activities defined by the IPT ensuring they are maintained as relevant in line with the changing project demands.
  • Be fully aware and engaged with the Operational and IPT risks and opportunities and support, and take leadership where appropriate driving progress.
  • Agree risk based internal assessments with the IPT lead and deliver these to completion including managing any findings to closure.
  • Analyse and communicate information to support the escalation and clear communication of IPT requirements to ensuring correct decision-making.
  • Take leadership, on behalf of the IPT, on all instances of Non Conformance and Failure and ensure situations are managed collectively to a dependable closure with the IPT Peer Group.
  • Support and mentor more junior members of the Assurance Team.
Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree [or equivalent] in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence, Electronics or similarly complex industries.
  • Be able to demonstrate Governance, knowledge of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of Development and Design Assurance support to these stages of the lifecycle.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge in applying Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification, Validation and First Article Inspection.
  • Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in the language of the business.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
  • Have effective time management, including prioritisation and escalation.
  • Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
