The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join our team as a Sales Assistant. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for driving sales performance and delivering exceptional customer service. Your primary objective will be to provide an outstanding shopping experience for every customer, while also meeting and exceeding sales targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive store performance by maximising sales opportunities and supporting your team in meeting and exceeding targets.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to drive business growth through customer loyalty and repeat purchases.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our wine range to provide customers with expert advice and recommendations.
  • Take ownership of your wine knowledge and continuously learn about our products to support your WSET qualification and confidence in selling.
  • Ensure the physical appearance and maintenance of your store are of the highest standard, both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operational running of the store, including delivering wine to customers, merchandising stock deliveries, and calling valued customers to drive sales opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the operational running of the store and implement solutions with your team.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, processes, and complete mandatory training.
  • Be an example of Majestic's Ways of Working and a source of support for more junior team members.
Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Excellent time-management, delegation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service to every single customer.
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
  • A can-do attitude with a passion for seeing problems through to solutions.
  • Adaptable and resilient to meet the ever-changing demands of our business.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Wine knowledge is beneficial, but passion to learn more is essential to pass level 2 WSET wine qualifications.
  • Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
