About The Role

Overview

Gleeds is seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team in Glasgow. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing costs and budgets of large-scale new build projects and extensive CAT A & B fit out works across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage costs and budgets of large-scale new build projects and extensive CAT A & B fit out works across Scotland.
  • Provide excellent communication and collaboration with colleagues, programme leads, client representatives, consultants, and contractors on site to effectively deliver projects from inception to completion.
  • Develop, grow, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and budgets.
  • Conduct cost analysis and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial goals are met.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and clients.
  • Deliver high-quality services and ensure that cost management deliverables meet customers' requirements.
  • Advise on and implement procurement strategies.
  • Advise clients on preferred suite of contracts.
  • Prepare tender documentation and manage the tender process.
  • Evaluate and report on tenders.
  • Cost reporting and prepare cash flow forecast.
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments.
  • Settle final accounts.
  • Identify new business development opportunities and drive growth across the business units' activities.
  • Support business unit directors in delivering business objectives.

Requirements

  • Pre- and post-contract experience.
  • New contract experience advantageous.
  • Demonstrable cost management experience working at a consultancy.
  • Strong experience of cost estimating and cost planning.
  • Cohesive knowledge of construction methods.
  • Practical knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Excellent problem, negotiating, finance, and numeracy management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Cost X experience desirable (training will be provided).

Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified.
  • MRICS (or working towards) would be desirable.
