Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Robotics Engineer to join our team at Barry-Wehmiller. As a key member of our packaging automation team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and testing robotic systems for the consumer products industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robotic systems for packaging applications, including programming and troubleshooting of robotic arm installations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of robotic systems with existing manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct site surveys and participate in technical meetings with customers to understand their packaging needs and develop solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system wiring diagrams and programming code.
  • Provide training and support to customers' operations and maintenance staff on robotic system operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure that all robotic systems are designed and built to meet customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in robotics and automation technology and apply this knowledge to improve our packaging solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in robotic systems, preferably in the packaging industry.
  • Education in a relevant engineering discipline, such as mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
  • Experience with robotic programming languages such as KUKA, Fanuc, or Yaskawa.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, to customer sites and company locations.
