Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits

Are you a Procurement Specialist eager to join a leading player in the residential construction sector? This innovative organization is expanding its established Commercial team by bringing on board a Procurement Specialist.

In this position, you will be tasked with delivering procurement services to Project Teams across various assignments as designated by the Regional Procurement Manager. Your role will involve securing sub-contracts and materials in line with a predetermined schedule and within budgetary constraints. Additionally, you will assist the Regional Procurement Manager in sourcing optimal buying solutions and developing risk-averse, comprehensive packages.

With strong negotiation capabilities, candidates should possess substantial experience in a comparable position, alongside a solid understanding of contract conditions and regulations pertinent to the construction sector.

Possessing commercial acumen, you should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with preferred experience in COINS software. A sound knowledge of Health & Safety practices and market conditions is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate tender submissions, negotiate favorable terms, and issue purchase orders via the company’s procurement system in alignment with the Procurement Delivery Plan.
  • Develop a material Procurement Delivery Plan for each project.
  • Oversee the Materials budget and compile a monthly Buying Report to highlight cost discrepancies, unplanned orders, site losses, damages, materials on-site, and project completion forecasts for Surveyors to incorporate into the monthly Valuation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Operational knowledge of COINS software.
  • Prior experience as an Assistant Buyer in the Construction or Housebuilding sector.
  • A solid grasp of purchasing methodologies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • The capability to identify emerging trends.
  • Strong commercial insight.

  • Confidence and presentation skills.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

Compensation Package:

  • Basic Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (dependent on experience) + Benefits
