About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Officer to join our team in the Carbon Reduction Energy Sustainability Division (CRES). The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of grant funded and capital programmes as part of the Carbon Reduction Projects and Policy team alongside the Midlands Net Zero Hub.

The Midlands Net Zero Hub is a collaborative initiative that brings together local authorities, businesses, and community groups to drive carbon reduction and net zero initiatives across the Midlands region. As a Financial Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the hub's activities and ensuring the effective management of financial resources.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in financial management, preferably with experience in managing multi-million pound projects. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial management of grant funded and capital programmes
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and budgets
  • Providing financial analysis and advice to support decision-making
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure effective project delivery
