As a Senior Civil/Structural Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for executing field assessments and engaging with clients to ascertain the scope of work and cost projections related to the civil and structural elements of projects. Your leadership will guide the design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability assessments of civil and structural components and processes, ensuring that the intricate and unique demands of each project are fulfilled.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees, organizes, and conducts detailed phases of civil and structural engineering tasks for a global business unit, project, or team, including the creation of original designs, layouts, details, drawings, and specifications for various structures, roadways, railways, and more.
  • Develops, modifies, and assesses civil and structural components and processes in accordance with relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs), and Design Control Check Lists (DCCLs).
  • Utilizes advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering, to design robust structures.
  • Evaluates the appropriate application of various structural materials such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete, ensuring that the selected materials meet load and stress requirements.
  • Originates and verifies complex structural engineering deliverables, including calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
  • Identifies and resolves conflicts in design requirements, sketching potential solutions and ideas.
  • Assesses and reports on the viability of unconventional materials, techniques, and complex coordination needs.
  • Plans and prepares specifications for equipment, work, and materials, including bid evaluations and recommendations for awards.
  • Drafts procurement and subcontract requisition documents and conducts technical evaluations of bids with recommendations for awards.
  • Supports project and construction management in recognizing and adhering to civil and structural requirements, addressing issues as they arise during project execution.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) along with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or 12-14 years of pertinent work experience.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Position requires a high level of expertise within the field.
  • Recognized as a highly skilled and proficient professional in the discipline.
  • Experienced professional with comprehensive understanding of specialization, capable of creatively resolving a wide array of issues.
