Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Principal Data/GIS Consultant to join our Ecology GIS team in Birmingham or Manchester. The successful candidate will lead the team in delivering high-quality support for private and public-sector clients across the UK, including infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of GIS consultants in delivering projects and driving digital innovations within the GIS team and across the wider ecology team.
  • Develop and implement digital transformation strategies to improve efficiency and speed of delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Ecology Team to drive digital innovations and transformation across the division.
  • Project manage a wide and varied workload, supervising internal staff and having technical oversight and sign-off on project output.
  • Build long-lasting client relationships, generate new business, and have responsibility for financial planning and management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience leading a team of GIS consultants within an ecological consultancy.
  • First-hand experience leading digital innovations within the GIS team and across the wider ecology team.
  • Proven track record of driving digital transformation, leveraging digital data capture to improve efficiency and speed of delivery.
  • Strong technical skills in GIS and related software, including ESRI and Microsoft products.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
