Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Medicines Management Pharmacy Assistant at The Royal Oldham Hospital.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a medicines management support service to the pharmacy and ward teams. This will involve communicating with patients and relatives about their medicines, helping to prevent missed doses, and transferring medicines to other wards.

The post holder will be a vital link between the multidisciplinary team at ward level and the Pharmacy service, requiring excellent communication and organisational skills.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services or 4 GCSE's grade C or above, 2 of which must include English and Maths
  • Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Ability to work under their own initiative
  • Ability to negotiate
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Able to receive complex and/or sensitive information and act accordingly
  • Good communication (written and verbal skills)
  • Basic IT skills
  • Good organisational skills

Desirable skills and qualifications include self-reliance, experience of working within a team, and awareness of the range of duties involved in the post.
