Role Summary:
The Clinical Pharmacy Technician will play a crucial role in supporting the Practice Based Clinical Pharmacist in delivering safe and effective medication management. This position is integral to our initiative aimed at transforming primary care through a person-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medicines reconciliation in line with established protocols.
- Assist in achieving Quality and Outcomes Framework (QoF) targets.
- Collaborate with GP surgery personnel to refine and enhance repeat prescribing procedures.
- Provide informed advice to GPs, staff, and patients regarding medication changes to ensure safety and cost-effectiveness.
- Engage in medication audits to uphold high standards of care.
- Support the management of prescribing budgets in conjunction with the medicines management team.
- Develop evidence-based resources to promote rational and effective prescribing practices.
- Deliver medication reviews and patient education through community outreach.
- Proactively manage prescription safety, including risk assessments and recommendations for improvements.
- Address medication inquiries from patients and staff, ensuring professional communication.
- Advise on the sourcing and management of medications.
- Assist with the submission of claims for administered drugs.

Qualifications:
Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
- Understanding of prescribing and medicines management.
- Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in NHS Primary Care.
- Familiarity with EMIS clinical systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
