Lead Sports Facilitator

Working Hours: 07:30-17:30, Monday-Friday (Total hours will not exceed 45 hours per week)
Compensation: Competitive weekly salary based on age, experience, qualifications, and camp size.
Reporting Structure: Directly accountable to the Camp Manager, Area Manager, and Central Office. Barracudas is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young individuals, and we expect all personnel to uphold this commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the delivery of Induction Training and supervise the preparation days prior to camp commencement.
- Complete necessary documentation and manage high-risk activities in line with Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice.
- Implement Health and Safety protocols to maintain a secure environment.
- Design and manage a diverse schedule of activities suitable for various age groups, ensuring effective use of all equipment.
- Oversee the Early and Late Club sessions, including staffing and scheduling of activities.
- Maintain regular communication with Area Managers and Central Office.
- Utilize your sports expertise to guide staff in effective delivery methods, ensuring safety for both children and staff, while enhancing activities with suitable equipment.
- Demonstrate new activities to staff members to build their confidence in execution.
- Schedule Skill Builders courses and ensure adherence to the prescribed content.
- Oversee necessary paperwork.
Collaboration with Specialist Instructors:
Multi-Activity, Fencing+, and Lifeguards
- Engage with parents and guardians on a daily basis.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the site and storage areas, with all equipment properly stored.
- Evaluate and review staff performance for end-of-season assessments.
Qualifications:
- Attendance at mandatory Senior Training events is required.
- Experience in sports coaching (preferably with children) and/or team leadership.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Possession of an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Provision of satisfactory professional or academic references.
- Participation in Induction Training Day(s) prior to camp opening.
- Barracudas Multi Activity qualification is preferred (further discussion will follow).
- Completion of annual Online Training.
- Coordination of end-of-camp pack-up activities.
- At least half of the senior staff should be trained in Paediatric First Aid, depending on camp size.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Health and Safety obligations by following established procedures and safe systems as outlined in manuals and training.
- Approach safety concerns proactively and diligently.
- Prepare for Induction training using relevant manuals.
- Conduct staff evaluations for each team member at the conclusion of their contract.
- Report any Child Protection concerns to a designated person at Central Office.
- Ensure staff are informed of any children with additional, medical, or dietary needs and assist in making reasonable adjustments as necessary.
- Administer necessary medication correctly, following established procedures and complete relevant documentation.
- Bring swimwear daily as it may be required for swimming sessions.
- The role of Senior Sports Instructor may vary based on the number of children attending camp. Staff will be notified directly if adjustments are necessary.
- This list is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake various tasks as needed by your evolving role within the organization and its overall objectives.
