Job Role Overview

As a Service Controller, you will play a crucial role in the operations of our client, a large Tool/Plant/Powered Access hire company operating nationwide. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Hire Enquiry Management: Handling hire enquiries from customers, ensuring timely and efficient responses to meet their needs.
  • Customer Service Coordination: Coordinating with the engineering and transport teams to arrange for engineers to attend breakdowns and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Job Card Administration: Updating job cards on the internal database, allocating jobs to engineers, and ensuring accurate machine availability.
  • Machine Inventory Management: Maintaining up-to-date records of machine availability, ensuring seamless coordination with the engineering and transport teams.
  • Communication and Coordination: Communicating effectively with colleagues, providing a helpful and friendly point of contact for depot enquiries, and ensuring smooth operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for this Service Controller role will possess:

  • Industry Expertise: Previous experience in the Plant, Powered Access, Tool, or Material Handling industries, with a strong understanding of the sector's operations and challenges.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft packages and general computer skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues alike.
